I think it’s fantastic that the Roosevelt is coming back, especially as a Waldorf property. That means the service will be impeccable. Good luck to everyone at the hotel!

I hear that the Orpheum, across Univ St, is also on deck to be renovated and opened, but I can’t find any info about this in either NOLA.com nor bayoubuzz.
    Any info on this end?

It is my understanding that the Orpheum was purchased following Katrina by an owner who intends to renovate it. However, that’s about all the news I’ve seen or heard.

My mother and father visited the Blue Room nearly every Sunday night from 1942 until Dad left to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. When I told her it was re-opening, she told me of attending an ice-skating show and enjoying the dancers who performed during the big band numbers. I am looking forward to seeing the Blue Room for the first time during Tales of the Cocktail!
