Its nice to see the hotel is still there...my mother (under the stage name Jo Reneau) sang in the blue room in the 40's. She would tell me stories of all the jazz greats that would go in and out....thus started my livelong love for the blues/jazz. Told me of meeting the great "Sachamo" and Al Hurt. After seeing the pics..it's all she said it was..wonderful.

I am not planning to come there anytime soon, but I wondered if it was still open. My mother (under the stage name Jo Reneau) sang rythum and blues in the 40's in the Blue Room. She used to tell me stories of late night jazz sessions after hours...some of the people she met and knew....it all just seemed exciting. Telling me of meeting frequently in town "Sachamo" and Al Hurt....so began my lifelong love for the blues/jazz. Don't know if there is any record of her,but it is true.....she could sing. It would be nice just to have a conversation with someone who knew her...and after looking at the pics of the hotel..it's all she said it was....awesome..

The hotel has its own railway platform as part of Grand Central Terminal. That is one of the things I like in the Waldorf-Astoria. It is very impressive. I want to go there someday. I think people will relax there so much.
